With the town’s club getting together once again following the summer break, adult volunteers are required to help out with the running of it. Swinford youths claim match honours
The talk in Swinford, Co Mayo is of a rematch. This follows a very successful night of sportsmanship, rivalry and entertainment as No Name Club teams took on the local Gardaí in five-a-side tournament. In the end, a more youthful No Name Club selection took the overall honours by beating a Garda side 11-8 in the final. SARI tournament sees No Name Club influence
Congratulations to Newbridge No Name Club committee member Patrice who recently participated in the Sports Against Racism in Ireland (SARI) Soccerfest 2010. Fuden Patrice Mancho Ngu has been a member of the Kildare club’s adult committee for the past year and managed the local side Riverglobe United FC to the second round of the multicultural soccer tournament. With many No Name Clubs meeting up once again following the Summer break, clubs are putting plans in place for the year ahead. Donegal No Name Club is one such club that has got its plans together and its list of activities for the months ahead can be viewed at its page under the ‘clubs’ heading. Western Regional Conference
Around 140 teenagers from the West and North West will gather in Castlebar on Saturday, October 2nd, for a No Name Club regional conference that will focus on key issues that affect the national youth organisation’s teenage members and their peers. Thousands enjoy Junior Cert celebrations
Thousands of Junior Cert students celebrated their exam results last night (September 15) at No Name Club events that were free from the influences of alcohol and drug abuse. The No Name Club has successfully organised a series of events and activities throughout the country to co-incide with the issuing of the results to teenagers.
