Junior Cert Events

The No Name Club is delighted to announce a series of events and activities that will take place throughout the country to mark the Junior Cert results celebrations. Each are being organised by No Name Clubs in their local communities and are providing teenagers with opportunities to mark the occasion at dedicated events that will be staged in safe, alcohol- and drug-free environments. We hope to add more events to our list in the days leading up to the publication of the results, Wednesday, September 15.

In Munster�..

Killarney No Name Club is hosting a disco in McSorley�s Nightclub in the heart of the Kerry town. The event will run from 8pm and doors will close at 8.30pm. It will run until 11pm and a night of fun and entertainment will be delivered in a safe and supervised setting. As with all No Name Club events, it is strictly an alcohol and drug free event. Admission will cost �8 and parents are asked to collect their children when the doors reopen at 11pm.

The following Friday, September 17th, McSorley�s will hold another event in association with the No Name Club to mark the Junior Cert results. This event is only open to No Name Club members and will feature a night of Karaoke and Pizza.

Moving eastwards, Cobh No Name Club has organised a Junior Cert disco on the night of the celebrations, September 15th. The event is taking place in the Commodore Hotel in Cobh and will run from 8.45pm to 11.45pm. It will feature the best in pop, r’n'b and other musical styles and is open to teenagers from 14 years of age upwards.

In Waterford, Dungarvan No Name Club has organised a Junior Cert celebratory disco. A local DJ will entertain on the night of the release of the results, Wednesday, September 15th. The venue is Creation Nightclub, Abbeyside, Dungarvan, and the disco will run from 9.30pm to midnight. The event has been organised by Dungarvan No Name Club but is open to young people who are not members of the club.

Moving to Connacht�.

Mountbellew No Name Club in Galway has organised a Junior Cert celebration in Barretts Nightclub on Friday, September 17th. Local band Overture will play at the event and they will be followed by DJ Gary, who will play the best in modern music. The night will run from 10pm to 12.30am and is open to all teenagers living in the area.

Staying with the Tribesmen, Gort No Name Club will be providing entertainment for its members and the wider community on the night of the results. It is running a disco on the night of their release, September 15th, in Gort Community Centre. A DJ will play the best in chart music and spot prizes will also be offered on the night. Refreshments will also be served on a night of celebration that will run from 9.30pm to midnight.

In Mayo, Erris No Name Club is opening its doors to Junior Cert students for the day of the results (September 15th). Their drop-in-centre, located at Pearse Street, Belmullet, will provide a wide variety of entertainment throughout the day. Trained youth workers will also be available to speak with students and anyone who feels any disappointment can speak in confidence to them. Music, DVD, TV, pool, the x-box and computers will be on hand to entertain the students. Refreshments and snacks will also be served in a setting that will be fully-supervised. The centre will open from 11am that morning to 9pm that night. Claremorris No Name Club will be opening the doors of its youth and activity centre on the week the results are released. It will open the evenings of Tuesday the 14th of September � the night before the release of the results � and Thursday the 16th of September � following on from their release. The centre will open both evenings from 8.30pm to 11pm and provide a host of activities that will include pool, ice hockey, Wii, X-Box, video games, darts and TV. The centre will also open the following two weeks on the nights of September 21st and 23rd, and September 28th and 29th.

Also in Claremorris, a disco to celebrate the Junior Cert results and mark No Name Club graduations will be run on Friday, October 1st. It is taking place in Blue Nightclub, the Dalton Inn Hotel. This is a surprise-themed disco for the 15 � 18 year old age-group and will run from 9.30pm to 12.30am.

The teenagers of Swinford are invited to celebrate their results in the No Name Club centre in the town on Friday, September 17th. Air hockey, pool, table tennis and the Wii will be providing fun and activities for those in attendance. Refreshments will also be served and the night�s activities will run from 8pm � 10pm. All are welcome to join the club members at the No Name Club premises on Chapel Street.

Travelling across to the east of the country and Leinster�..

Students celebrating in Kilkenny will gather at the Hub in Kilkenny City on the night of the results, September 15th, to mark the occasion. Kilkenny No Name Club will be running a disco that will start at 9pm and run until midnight. Tickets are being distributed throughout the local schools for a night that promises the best in party music.

Baltinglass No Name Club is reopening its centre in the town on Friday night, September 17th. The facility is located at the old boys school on Main Street and will run activities from 8pm � 10pm. The centre is equipped with a pool table and Wii machine and tournaments will be run to bring enjoyment and fun to the evening. Internet access is also provided, with videos and other features being accessible via a large screen within the facility. Music will also be played on the night and all are welcome to join in the celebrations.
