No Name Club takes to the airwaves

Homes throughout the West and North West heard last Sunday morning, September 12th, of the excellent work the No Name Club is doing in the region through Midwest Radio’s The Sunday Documentary. Midwest Radio presenter Tommy Marren met with a host of No Name Club representatives at the West and North West Regional Final of the National Youth Awards in Claremorris, Co Mayo, in February.

What followed is a 45 minute documentary that outlines the aims and objectives of the No Name Club and speaks with a number of host, hostesses, adult committee members and national officers. It provides an excellent insight into the workings of the No Name Club and the benefits it is bringing to young people and their communities throughout Ireland. It features interviews with John Donovan, No Name Club Chairman; Con Nolan, current CEO; Martin Ryan, former CEO; Anthony McCormack, Development Manager; Edith Geraghty, Erris No Name Club; Kevin Murtagh, Swinford No Name Club; and Adrian Feeney, Gort No Name Club.

Hosts and Hostess from clubs throughout the region are featured in the programme and their musical talents are an important part of it. The programme can be listened to as a podcast and accessed by visiting www.midwestirishradio.com, clicking on the ‘podcasts’ page and downloading the No Name Club podcast.
